Joseph Webster Spradley 
Joseph Webster was born on August 30th, 1894 in Milam Co., TX.1 Joseph Webster's father was Clayton Louis Pinkerton Webster Spradley and his mother was Josephine J. Brock. His paternal grandparents were James John Spradley and Penelopy Frances Todd. He had three sisters named Minnie Lee, Annie Belle and Land Dell. He was the second youngest of the four children. Joseph was living in Gonzales, Gonzales County Texas working for Bakenary
Variety Store as Manger when he fell in love with Milly Pauline Fisdmar.
They were married in 1922. About 1928 they moved to San Benita with the
same job where he worked until about 1945. This store was next door to F.
W. Woolworth but went out of business. He next went into building
business, Lumber and Finance.
His wife grew up in Shiner, a community south of Gonzales. She later
took up art and painted pictures. She was killed by a Mexican who broke
into their home to rob her about 1986.
Joseph lived in San Benita many years. He was in the lumber business
and had a lumber yard in San Benita. He was mayor there about 1945.
He met Wilbur Haskell Spradley at an convention in Mexico in 1945.
Thomas W Keith, Joseph's nephew, said that Joseph was always a real
sharp dresser.
