David Oliver was born on December 3rd, 1857 in Montgomery Co., AL.1 David Oliver's father was Zebulon Moore Pike Rushing and his mother was Rebecca S. Huffman. His paternal grandparents were Arthur Rushing and Delilah Williams; his maternal grandparents were David Huffman and Martha Sally Rambo. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named William T. M., Zebulon Montgomery, Mary E., Martha G., Sarah Snow, Rachel Rebecca, Missouri Arnett, Mary Queen and Queen Mary. He was the oldest of the ten children. for the guardianship of Coral and Davis's minor children. All were
listed as less than fourteen years of age. Ray Rushton was guardian for
Claude Eugene and Ray Rushing. Charles B. Teasley was guardian for
Oliver Francis, Maynard Orriville and Henry Osgood Rushing.
