His paternal grandparents were Willoughby Sims Pugh and Elizabeth Pheebe Rushing; his maternal grandparents were John Wilks and Mary Gulledge. He had six brothers and two sisters, named James Walter, William Carvin, John Cleveland, Arthur Sims, Wiley Wilks, Horace Hood, Cleone and Anna Marie. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 82 on February 21st, 1969 in AL. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Montgomery Co., AL.1 1 -
