Living's father was George William Logan and her mother was Mamie Iona Hughes. Her paternal grandparents were John Bloomfield Logan and Mary Elizabeth Gulledge; her maternal grandparents were William Dee Hughes and Delona E. King. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Lester W., Huey Colbert, Melvin Edward, Leon Dee, Lela Alma, Elsie Delona and Valzie Iona.-
