Edward Richard Jacks 
Edward Richard was born in September 1755 in Baltimore Co., MD.1 Edward Richard's father was Richard, Sr. Jacks. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Jacks and Elizabeth Huett. He was an only child. He died about 1783 in Savannah River, Union Co., SC.1 General Notes

Edward JACKS/JACQUES was born 1751 in Wales. (His family is thought
previously from France.)He emigrated to America and lived in Rowan
County, NC where he married Sarah JONES, whose family were early settlers
in Jamestown, VA. They had 3 sons:Greenberry, John Jeremiah & Isaac
JACKS, the first 2 born in Rowan Co.,NC & the youngest born in Craven
Co., SC. Edward (sometimes called Edmund) was accused of Toryism in NC.
He changed to Whig & moved to SC and he was killed on Savannah River by
Torys in the Revolutionary War. His widow remarried William PEARSON and
later moved to Bedford County, TN. At least one grandson used spelling
"JACQUES" in America. Greenberry JACKS moved to GA, John Jeremiah JACKS
moved to IN and Isaac JACKS stayed in SC.
Edward Richard and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony about September 1774 in Rowan Co., NC.1 They had three sons named William Greenberry, John Jeremiah and Isaac.
