Mabel Clara was born on October 2nd, 1901 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Mabel Clara's father was John Austin Darden and her mother was Vashti Olie Sellers. Her paternal grandparents were John Alexander Darden and Georgia Elizabeth Webb; her maternal grandparents were Sampson Elija Sellers and Martha Jane Johnston. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Eschol Sampson, John Austin, Jr., Norman Delmas, Jewel Olie and Martha Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 16 on May 3rd, 1918 in Coosa Co., AL. She was buried in Goodwater Cemetery, Goodwater, Coosa Co., AL..1 1 General Notes
