James Monroe Cassidy 
James Monroe was born in November 1855 in Coffee Co., AL.1 James Monroe's father was George Washington Cassidy and his mother was Nancy Ann Josephine Snelgrove. He was an only child. A family story says that James M. Cassidy and his brother Noah Cassidy
traveled by train to Alabama to visit relatives. It was very hot on the
train and when they arrived the weather was cold. James developed
pneumonia and died at Red Level shortly thereafter.
James Monroe and Sarah Louisa were married in a religious ceremony on June 23rd, 1880 in Covington Co, AL.1 They had three sons and two daughters, named Colonel Z., Oscar M., James Eldridge, Lou Verna and Minnie Addie.
