Edward was born on June 17th, 1239 in Westminster Palace, London, England. Edward's father was Henry Plantagenet and his mother was Eleanor Berenger. His paternal grandparents were John Plantagenet and Isabelle Taillefer; his maternal grandparents were Raymond Berenger and Beatrix Savoy. He was an only child.
