nancy was born in September 1801 in Russell Co.,Virginia. Nancy's father was John McLaughlin and her mother was Judith Leathers. Her paternal grandparents were George Mc Glothlin/ J. and Anna Unknown. She had five brothers and a sister, named Jacob, john, david, William, Elia and Lydia. She was the third oldest of the seven children.
