Maud was born in England.  Maud's father was Thomas de Clare , Lord of Thomond, Gov London and her mother was Juliane FitzMaurice.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Clare , Earl Gloucester & Hertford and Maud de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Maurice "Mael" FitzMaurice , Lord of Offaly and Emmeline Longespee. She had two sisters named Maud and Margaret de.  She died in England.

‌Maud and Robert de Clifford were married in a religious ceremony on November 13th, 1295 in England.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Robert de Clifford II, Roger, Idonea, Isabel and Margaret.
