Humphrey was born about 1308 in Tunbridge, Stffrd., Eng.. Humphrey's father was Edmund de STAFFORD Baron of Staffrd and his mother was Margaret BASSETT. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas STAFFORD and Alionore de forze langley; his maternal grandparents were Ralph BASSETT Baron Basset and Hawise de GREY. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Ralph De, Richard, Jacobus De, William, Elizabeth De, Catherine De, Mary and Margaret De. He was the youngest of the nine children. He had a half-sister named Margaret.-
