Gilbert De was born about 1200 in Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire, England.  Gilbert De's father was Lord Of Meath Walter De Lacy Lord Of Meath and his mother was Margaret De Braose.  His paternal grandparents were [Lord Of Meath] Hugh De Lacy [Lord Of Meath] and Rohese De Monmouth O'connor; his maternal grandparents were Lord Bramber William III 5Th Baron De Braose Lord Bramber and [Lady Of Lahaie] Maud (Matilda) De St. Valery [Lady Of Lahaie]. He had three sisters named Petronilla De, Katherine De and Egidia (Edith De.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died in Trim, Weobley, Herefordshire, England (Dvp).  He was buried before December 25th, 1230 in Llanthony Priory, Wales.
