Gruffudd Ap was born about 1207 in Of, Caernarvonshire, Wales. Gruffudd Ap's father was Llewelyn Ap iORWERTH PRINCE OF WALES and his mother was Tangwystl Verch LLYWARCH. His paternal grandparents were Iorwerth "Drwyndwn" Ap OWAIN and Margred Maney Verch MADOG heiress. He had two sisters named Gwladys "Ddu" Verch and Miss Verch. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Dafydd Ap, Ellen, Gwenllian "Las" Verch, Margred Verch and Angharad Verch. He died on March 1st, 1244.-
