Matilde was born about 1203 in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, England.  Matilde's father was David Earl Of Huntingdon [Prince Of Scotl and her mother was Maud De Meschines [Countess Of Hun.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Earl Of Huntingdon Prince Of Scotland and Adelaide De Warenne [Countess]; her maternal grandparents were Hugh De Meschines Earl Of Meschines 5th Earl Of Chester/Chester and Bertha (Bertrade) De Montfort [Countess]. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Robert, Henry Of, John Le, David Le, Margaret De, Ada De, Isabel, Maud Le and Marjory Of.
