Phillip II was born about 1177 in Swabia, Germany.  Phillip II's father was Frederick I "Barbarossa" Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Beatrix De Macon.  His paternal grandparents were Duke of Swabia Frederick II Von Hohenstaufen Duke of Swabia and Judith of Bavaria; his maternal grandparents were Count of Burgundy Reynaud III De Macon Count of Burgundy and Agatha Princess De Lorraine. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry VI Hohenstauffen, Otto I and Beatrix Of The.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died on June 21st, 1208 in Bamberg, murdered by Otto of Wittlesbach.
