Adeliza De was born about 1038 in Of, Normandie, France.  Adeliza De's father was Robert De Grentmesnil Sr and her mother was Hawise De Eschauffen. She had three brothers named Hugh De, Robert De and Arnold De.  She was the youngest of the four children.
