Lothar was born about 0835 in Alsace-Lorraine, France.  Lothar's father was Lothaire I , Emperor Holy Roman Empire Martel and his mother was Ermengarde , Countess of Tours d'Orleans. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Louis II Emperor of The Holy Roman, Helletrude Princess of, Ermengarde (Irmgard) Duchess of The, Rotrud Princess of and Gisle Princess of.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had a half-sister named Adelaire.  He died on August 8th, 0869 in Placenza, Italy.

‌Lothar were married in a religious ceremony in 0842.  He had two biological daughters named Gisela of von Lothringen Princess of and Bertha Princess of.
