Alice of was born about 1114 in Selby, Yorkshire, England. Alice of's father was Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and her mother was Isabel Elizabeth de Beaumont. Her maternal grandparents were Robert I de Beaumont , 1st Earl of Leicester and Isabel Elizabeth de Vermandois. She had a sister named Constance. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Reynold de, Richard Strongbow de and Maud "The Empress" Princess of. Matthew was Constable of France.
