Aoife Mac Murough was born in 1140 in Leinster, Ireland.  Aoife Mac Murough's father was 58th Christian King Dairmait "King of the foreigners" Of Leinster MAC MURCHADA and her mother was Derbforgaill (Dervorgilla) Princess of Meath O'NEILL.  Her paternal grandfather was Enna Of Leinster; her maternal grandparents were King Murchad MacDomnaill Of Mide O'NEILL and Moy O'BRIEN. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Conor and Urlachan.  She died at the age of 37 in 1177 in Waterford, Ireland.  She was buried in Cathedral.

‌Aoife Mac Murough and Richard "Strongbow" FitzGilbert Of Pembroke were married in a religious ceremony on August 26th, 1171 in Reginald's Tower Waterford, Ireland.  They had a son and two daughters, named Robert, Isabel FitzGilbert Countess Strigoil and Elizabeth.
