Archibald was born about 1297 in Douglas Castle, Douglas, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Archibald's father was William "Le Hardi" 5th Laird of Douglas , Sir and his mother was Eleanor Lovaine. His paternal grandparents were William "Longlegs" 3rd Laird de Douglas , Sir and Martha of Carrick. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James "The Black" 6th Laird, Muriel and Barbara. He died on July 19th, 1333 in Battle of Halidon Hill, Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland, England.General Notes

Archibald 'The Tyneman' ; Half brother of the Black Douglas. He defeated Edward de Baliol, King of Scotland in 1332 and was appointed regent of Scotland during the minority of King David II.
