William V was born about 1193 in Derbyshire, England.  William V's father was Earl of Derby William IV De Ferrers Earl of Derby and his mother was Agnes De Meschines.  His paternal grandparents were Earl of Derby Walkelin (William) De Ferrers Earl of Derby and Sybil De Braose; his maternal grandparents were Earl of Chester Hugh De Kevelioc De Meschines Earl of Chester and Bertrade De Montfort. He had three sisters named Ivette, Sibyl and Bertha.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died in Evington, Leicestershire, England.  He was buried on March 31st, 1254 in Merevale Abbey, Warwickshire, England.

‌William V and Sibyl were married in a religious ceremony before May 14th, 1219 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  They had six daughters named Eleanor, Isabel, Joan, Maud, Sibyl and Agnes.


William V's second family

‌William V were married in a religious ceremony in 1238.  He had two biological sons and two biological daughters, named Robert, William, Joan and Agnes.
