Emma de was born about 1029 in Conteville, Eure, Normandy, France.  Emma de's father was Harlevin (Herlouin) Vicomte de Conteville and her mother was Herleve (Arlette) de Falaise. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert de, Odo Bishop of, Muriel de and Miss de.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William I "The Conqueror" King of and Adelaide of.  She died in France.
