Rohese FitzRichard de was born about 1055 in Brionne, Eure, Normandy, France. Rohese FitzRichard de's father was Richard FitzGilbert 1st Earl de Clare and her mother was Rohese Giffard. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard FitzRichard de, Gilbert Fitz Richard de, Robert, Avice de, Ronais FitzGilbert de and Avoise de. She was the oldest of the seven children.
