Isabel De was born about 1275.  Isabel De's father was Gilbert "the Red Earl" de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER & HERTFORD and her mother was Alice LUSIGNAN (BRuN) COUNTESS OF SURREY/COUNTESS OF SURREY.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and Maud de LACY; her maternal grandparents were Hugh (Hugues) X De LUSIGNAN ( alias Brun) and Isabella De TAILLEFER. She had a sister named Isabel.  She was the younger of the two children. She had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Gilbert de, William de, Eleanore de, Elizabeth de, Margaret de, Elizabeth de, Eleanor and Isabel.
