Ludwig von was born about 1010 in Braunschweig, Brunswick, Germany. Ludwig von's father was Bruno von Braunschweig , Count of Derlingau and his mother was Gisele of Swabia. He had two half-brothers named Hermann IV Duke of and Henry III "The Black" Holy Roman. He died on April 23rd, 1038.
