Janet Shields 
Janet was born on March 7th, 1762 in Botetourt Co., Virginia. Janet's father was Robert Shields and her mother was Nancy Stockton. Her paternal grandparents were John Shields and Margaret Perry. She had ten brothers named Thomas, Richard, David, William, John, James, Robert, Joseph, Benjamin and Jesse. She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 64 on February 17th, 1827 in Seymour, Indiana.General Notes
Janet was pregnant with Agnes at the time of Joshua's death.
In the fall of 1807 or early 1808, Janet and her family migrated to
Indiana and settled at Brinley's Ferry, now Evans Landing on the Ohio
River in Harrison County. She later moved to what is now Jackson County
and lived at her brother Robert's Shields Fort, the present location of
Seymour, Indiana. Janet is buried at Seymour, Indiana.
Janet and her brother Jesse received "Letters of Demission" from the
Pigeon Forge Baptist Church 30 September 1808; probably about the time
they moved to Harrison County, Indiana.
