Ellen G (Alice) Shafer

Ellen G, known as Alice, was born in April 1880 in Rock Island,Illinois.¹   Alice's father was Peter H Shafer and her mother was Annie E (Anna) Middleham.  Her maternal grandparents were William H Middleham and Lucy Jane Marshall. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William J, Henry F, Robert S, George W, Emerson C, Nealie, Nellie, Marie A, Myrtle M and Ethel L.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
