Martha A. was born on September 7th, 1841 in ,Marion Co.,Tn. Martha A.'s father was Churchwell McNew and her mother was Mary J. Kilgore. Her paternal grandparents were George McNew and Sarah Jackson. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named James, Stephen K., Charles M., Isaiah S., Rufus M., Manuel Jackson, Thomas Benton, Sally and Mary Rebecca Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 19 on March 3rd, 1861 in ,Pope,Il. She was buried in March 1861 in McNew Cemetery,Family Farm,Pope,Il.
