Sophia was born on September 24th, 1850 in Malden,Kanawha Co,West Virginia. Sophia's father was William Hicks and her mother was Minerva Harris. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Stephen Hicks and Margaret Boggs. She had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas Dickinson, Margaret S and Hannah M. She was the oldest of the four children. She died before 1900.-
