Lawrence A. was born on March 31st, 1880 in Calhoun Co,WV. Lawrence A.'s father was George Washington Hicks and his mother was Elizabeth McCune. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stephen Hicks and Margaret Boggs. He had two brothers named William Henry and John. He was the youngest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named James David, Owen Lewis, Benjamin Armstrong, Joseph Steven, John and Margaret Jane. He died at the age of 56 on January 18th, 1937 in Calhoun Co,WV.-
