Helena was born about 0920 in Constantinople,Turkey.  Helena's father was Romanus I Lecapenus and her mother was Zo Carbonopsina TZAUTZINA. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, Basil the chamberlain and Anna of Byzantium.
