Her paternal grandparents were Robert Eldred and Anne Garham; her maternal grandparents were William Lumpkin and Tamesin Constable. She had five brothers and six sisters, named John, Ezekial, Samuel, Thomas, Ezekial, Anne, Sarah, Elisha, Bethis, Josaphat and Mary. She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.-
