His paternal grandparents were James Dodd and Isabella Clements; his maternal grandparents were Meeks and Frances. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William Washington, James Alexander, John Edward, Thomas P, Amanda S., Louisa Sarah, Sophia A and Virginia F. He died at the age of 89 on March 25th, 1939.-
