Mary was born on May 18th, 1738 in North Kingstown,,RI. Mary's father was George Jr. Tibbitts and her mother was Dorcas Gardiner. Her paternal grandparents were George Tibbitts and Mary UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Gardiner and Mary Greene. She had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Nathainial, Job, Benjamin, Mary, Anna, Dorcas and Martha. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
