Van was born in 1692 in St Marys City,Maryland. Van's father was Thomas Swearingen and his mother was Jane UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents were Gerrit Van Swearingen and Barbarah De Barette. He was an only child. He died at the age of 95 in August 1787 in Ringgold,Washington,Maryland.General Notes
