John (or Johann) was born in 1697 in Heidelberg,Westfalia,Germany. John (or Johann)'s father was Harmon (or Herman) Groethausen and his mother was Mary UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents were Herman Grothauss and Anna Maria Hemmers. He was an only child. He died at the age of 94 in 1791 in Springfield Twp,Philadelphia Co,Pennsylvania.-
