John Gifford

John was born in 1728 in North Kingstown,R.I..  John's father was Yelverton Gifford and his mother was Ann Northup.  His maternal grandfather was Stephen Northup. He had five sisters named Hannah, Ann, Patience, Elizabeth and Abigail.  He was the youngest of the six children.
