Mary was born on August 19th, 1735 in Virginia. Mary's father was Timothy Thorpe Jr. and her mother was Martha Peterson. Her paternal grandparents were Timothy Thorpe and Mary. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Peterson, Timothy, Elizabeth, Lucy, Martha (Patty), Silvia and Temperence.-
