John Simmons

John was born about 1791 in , , S.C..  John's father was James Simmons and his mother was Elizabeth Gillenwaters.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Gillenwater and Martha. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James G., Mary Or Polly, Nancy, Elizabeth, Frances and Rachel.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died before 1847 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.
