John Scalf

John was born about 1791 in , , North Carolina.  John's father was John Scalf and his mother was Edead Edeah Carlisle.  His paternal grandfather was Lewis Scalf. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named William, Britton, William, Berryman, Ira, Lee, Jesse, Peter, Robert, Mary, Nancy, Dicey, Lydia, Elizabeth and Cecelia.  He was the third oldest of the sixteen children.
