Elizabeth Pilant 
Elizabeth was born in 1836 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Elizabeth's father was John Pilant and her mother was Mahala. Her paternal grandfather was Joseph Pilant. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James, William, John, Joseph, Orlena, Susan, Nancy and Mariah Jane. She was the third oldest of the nine children.-
