Isabel was born about 1476 in Cubely, Derby, England. Isabel's father was Nicholas Montgomery and her mother was Joan Longford. Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas Montgomery and Eleanor Cheresey; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas Longford and Margery. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Nicholas, Montgomery, Thomas, Walter, Margaret, Ann and Katherine. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
