William Merritt

William's father was Thomas Merritt and his mother was Phebe.  His paternal grandfather was John Merritt. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Henry Written, Nathaniel, Stephen, Thomas, Ann, Anna, Ascension, Mary Ann, Rebecca, Merritt and Merritt.  He died in 1813 in Halifax County, NC.
