Joel Alexander was born on March 3rd, 1845 in Wayne County, Missouri. Joel Alexander's father was Joel Meadors and his mother was Amy Cowden. His paternal grandparents were Joel Meadors and Sarah; his maternal grandparents were William Cowden and Lucy Keen. He had a brother and two sisters, named Job, Mary I. and Matilda. He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother named R. L.. He died at the age of 59 on June 28th, 1904 in Louisiana.-
