Effie Phoebe was born on June 11th, 1884 in Honeycutt, Hawkins, Tennessee. Effie Phoebe's father was James Columbus McLain and her mother was Rosannah J. Tucker. Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan McLain and Catherine Light; her maternal grandparents were Branch Tucker and Phebe Jones. She had nine brothers and a sister, named George James, Henry Bailey, Oscar Haywood, Spencer Lucas, Robert Taylor, Jonathan Tucker, Ellis Birl, Richard Murrell, Orin Hailey and Ruby Kate. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 76 on July 14th, 1960.-
