Nancy's father was John May and her mother was Nancy Greer. Her paternal grandparents were William May and Mabel Alsobrook; her maternal grandparents were Martin Greer and Mary Wright. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John C., Philip M., William Benjamin, May, Elizabeth, Mary and May.-
