William Martin 
William was born in 1842 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. William's father was Paschal Martin and his mother was Nancy Cope. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Martin and Elizabeth; his maternal grandparents were William Cope and Nancy. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Andrew L., James, Jesse, Almerinda and Malissa. He was the third youngest of the six children.-
