Peter's father was Richard Leigh and his mother was Elizabeth Chicheley.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Leigh and Lettice Calveley; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Chicheley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Calveley, Francis, Richard, Thomas, Elizabeth and Lettice.  He was buried on January 16th, 1744.
