Samuel Kite 
Samuel was born in 1788 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Samuel's father was Adam Kite and his mother was Elizabeth Runkle. His paternal grandparents were William Kite and Catharine Smith; his maternal grandparents were Lewis Runkle and Catharine. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Emanuel, Benjamin, William, George W., David, Michael, Mary, Sarah, Margaret and Elizabeth.-
