Elnora was born on August 25th, 1870 in , Livingston, Missouri. Elnora's father was Louis L. Hughes and her mother was Christiana Rudy. Her maternal grandparents were William A. Rudy and Sarah Engelheart. She had four sisters named Almeda Jane, Mary Emma, Hester Ann and Lura Mae. She was the second youngest of the five children. She died at the age of 36 on August 3rd, 1907 in Cowden, Shelby, Illinois. She was buried in Cowden, Shelby, Illinois.-
